Mystery Diagnosis is a television series that takes a look at patients that have gone through numerous doctor visits, many times over several years, to finally get a diagnosis of the condition or disease that was afflicting them. Mystery diagnosis recaps the anguish that individual and their family have endured when trying to deal with symptoms when no one seems to know what is wrong with them. At times they get one diagnosis to find out later that it was incomplete or totally wrong.
Each episode of Mystery Diagnosis shows the personal side of patient care. It hopefully teaches doctors to listen carefully to their patients without bias. Most importantly, it makes people realize that they are their best advocate. Although doctors may have gone through years of training and the majority care deeply for the welfare of their patients, it is the patient that knows his/her body best. Mystery Diagnosis shows that there are rare conditions and diseases that some doctors may not be familiar with and that all patients should not stop fighting for their health and well being; even when all others have given-up.
