“Leave it to Beaver” was a family comedy that ran from 1957 to 1963. Today it is aired in syndication around the world. “Leave it to Beaver” is an iconic show that symbolizes a perfect idealistic suburban family. The comedy starred Jerry Mathers as Theodore “Beaver” Cleveland. Episodes centered around Beaver, who is seven year-old when the series begins, and his family. The Cleveland family includes Beaver’s Wally Cleaver (Tony Dow), his father Ward Cleaver (Hugh Beaumont), and his mother June Evelyn Bronson Cleaver (Barbara Billingsley). During the show we saw episodes where the children’s conflicts and trials were resolved by the wise parental wisdom their dad, Ward Cleaver. “Leave it to Beaver” represented an ideal for now and in the era when it was originally aired.
