"Frasier" was a sitcom that aired on NBC from 1993 through 2004. It was a spinoff from the highly successful show, "Cheers."

"Frasier" followed the title character Frasier Crane, played by Kelsey Grammer, as he moved from Boston back home to Seattle to continue his psychiatric practice. Frasier once again finds himself having to deal with his family. His father Martin, played by John Mahoney, moves in with Frasier and brings his physical therapist Daphne (Jane Leeves) with him.

Daphne immediately attracts the eye of Frasier's brother, Niles (David Hyde-Pierce) who doesn't act on the attraction due to his being married. However, the infatuation is played for laughs for much of the series.
Frasier ends up plying his trade as the host of a radio call-in show. While most of the show focuses on the Crane family, Frasier's producer, Roz (Peri Gilpin) becomes a sort of a confidant to Frasier.

Many of the cast members from "Cheers" showed up on "Frasier" in a reprisal of their roles, including Frasier's ex-wife Lilith (Bebe Neuwirth), Cliff Clavin (John Ratzenberger) Sam Malone (Ted Danson), Woody Boyd (Woody Harrelson) and Diane Chambers (Shelley Long).

The episode in which Diane comes to Seattle is one of the most popular episodes of the show. In the episode, Diane wants Frasier to see her new play. When he finally does agree to visit the theater, the viewing audience is treated to what amounts to a stage recreation of an episode of "Cheers."

What makes "Frasier" stand out from other sitcoms of its era is the strong writing which often utilized clever wordplay alongside aspects of French farce to create a unique viewing experience.

Through its run of over a decade, "Frasier" ended up winning 37 Emmy Awards, more than any show in the history of television. Both Grammer and Hyde-Pierce won four trophies, for Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor, respectively. The show itself took home honors as the Outstanding Comedy Series each year from 1994 to 1998.

The theme song for the show, which was sung over the closing credits, was called, "Tossed Salads and Scrambled Eggs" and was sung by series star, Kelsey Grammer.
