Everybody Loves Raymond is a situation comedy staring Ray Romano. Like many other comics Romano draws inspiration for Every Body Loves Raymond from his real-life family.  In the show Ray lives with his wife Debra and 3 little children. His parents, Marie and Frank, live directly across the street and are very intrusive. His brother, Robert, is a policeman and is perpetually jealous of Raymond, his life, his family and his successful career as a sports writer for the local newspaper.

The dynamics of the family relations are what makes this show funny and entertaining. Debra is a good wife and mother but will never be good enough for Marie's favorite son, Ray. Marie is the typical meddlesome mother-in-law but, of course, all her suggestions and criticisms are "out of love."

Another fun aspect of the show is the marriage relationship between Ray and Debra. Ray earns the money but Debra is defiantly the boss in that household. She gets annoyed with Ray and his eccentric family but loves him and tolerates them in order to have a loving and peaceful home.

Marie and Frank's marriage is very different from Ray and Debra's. They fight and insult each other constantly but, deep down, they are still passionately in love.

For a funny show with a talented cast, Everybody Loves Raymond is a great choice.
